Cloud Backup for MS 365
Backing up Microsoft 365 services
We will call you back.
Cloud DRaaS (Disaster Recovery as a Service) is a cloud service for rapid disaster recovery of virtual servers in a LanCloud backup data center in the event of a partial or complete failure of the Customer's primary data center.
The Cloud DRaaS service is based on Veeam's Cloud Connect and Backup & Replication solutions. The service continuously replicates virtual servers from the customer's on-premises data center to the LanCloud data center. In the event of a failure in the on-premises data center, the customer can launch all or some of the virtual servers in the LanCloud cloud data center in just a few minutes. All virtual servers remain accessible over the network thanks to an automatically created L2 VPN tunnel.
The main difference between Cloud DRaaS and Cloud BackUp (BaaS) is the minimum possible recovery time (RTO) and minimal data loss (RPO). With a traditional data backup service, recovery time, depending on the volume, can take hours, days, or even weeks. During this time, the company's business will be down and losing money. Furthermore, depending on the backup frequency—for example, once a day or once a week—the company will lose the data accumulated during this time. With Cloud DRaaS, these figures are just a few minutes. This means that even in the event of a disaster at the primary data center, the business can resume operations in the LanCloud backup data center with up-to-date data in less than 15 minutes.
The Cloud DRaaS disaster recovery service can be used in conjunction with the Cloud BackUp backup service, saving on Veeam BackUp & Replication licensing costs. If you already have your own Veeam Backup & Replication licenses, you can use them, saving on the service cost.
The main advantages of the Cloud DRaaS service:
To calculate the cost of the Cloud DRaaS disaster recovery service, select the required number of virtual servers to replicate to the cloud in the calculator. To do this, enter the corresponding number of Veeam Cloud Connect Replication licenses. Further, if you don't have your own Veeam Backup & Replication licenses, you can rent the necessary licenses from us. To do this, select the required number of Veeam Backup & Replication licenses in the calculator. We recommend using the same edition for all virtual servers: Standard, Enterprise, or Enterprise Plus. For most scenarios, the Standard edition is sufficient. For high-load solutions with limited internet bandwidth, we recommend using the Enterprise edition, as it includes a WAN accelerator, which reduces bandwidth consumption and accelerates data transfer to the cloud by compressing traffic. The Enterprise Plus edition is primarily required if you need advanced backup tools in addition to Disaster Recovery. A detailed comparison of Veeam editions can be found at link.
Next, use the calculator to select the required number of computing resources (cores, memory, disks, and external IP addresses) that should always be reserved for you so that you can perform a disaster recovery startup of your IT infrastructure in the LanCloud cloud at any time. These resources will also be available for disaster recovery testing purposes. The prices for reserved processor cores and memory indicated in the calculator represent 30% of their actual cost. In the case of a planned or disaster recovery startup of virtual servers in the cloud, the cost of these resources is charged at 100%. Payment is only charged for the time your servers are running in the LanCloud cloud, and billing is per-minute.
You can choose not to pay for resource reservations to save money. This option will still allow you to replicate your virtual servers to the LanCloud cloud, but will not allow you to automatically launch your virtual servers. In this case, if you experience a disaster and need to launch your servers in the cloud, you will need to contact technical support to allocate the necessary resources. However, in this case, LanCloud does not guarantee that all your servers will be promptly provided with the necessary computing power. If you pay for resource reservations, LanCloud provides a 100% guarantee of resource allocation, and the customer can perform the server launch automatically without involving technical support.
