Email is now not only a vital business tool, but also, unfortunately, one of the main sources of information security threats. It is through email that viruses most often enter a company's network. Often, just one virus on a single computer is enough to destroy all of the company's information. Therefore, it is crucial to protect all possible threat penetration channels into the corporate network.

The reliability of our cloud services and the security of our clients' data are our top priorities. Cloud Exchange has always been protected by two free antivirus modules, but given the constantly growing threat landscape, we realized this was insufficient and that our service required top-notch, enterprise-grade antivirus protection. We negotiated extensively with various antivirus vendors and ultimately chose Kaspersky Antivirus.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus is one of the best in the world, ranking first in various independent ratings and providing the highest level of anti-virus protection. Furthermore, since Kaspersky Anti-Virus is a domestic product, it often responds significantly faster to specific threats relevant to Russian customers. After implementing Kaspersky Anti-Virus, we collected statistics and analyzed its effectiveness compared to two existing anti-virus solutions. We found that Kaspersky Anti-Virus blocks an average of 50-100 virus threats daily that weren't blocked by free anti-virus modules. While this isn't a huge number compared to the overall flow of several million emails, experience shows that even one missed virus can subsequently disable an entire corporate network of several thousand computers. Therefore, we are confident that our decision was the right one, and our customers can now sleep a little easier.

However, it's important to remember that even high-quality multi-layered antivirus protection is not a panacea for all types of threats. It's essential to implement a full range of information security measures, including protecting the perimeter and individual network elements, installing software updates in a timely manner, instructing employees not to open unknown files and programs, and, most importantly, backing up all business-critical information and storing it in a secure location outside the corporate network.
